It seems that on a flight back from LA to London, Bacon contracted a mysterious illness. This manifested itself in the form of breathlessness, and he seemed to be having problems when walking.
This would be an issue for most people at the best of times, but for a TV and radio presenter, breathlessness can be a total nightmare. This was an issue for Richard and something he needed to get checked out. But, he probably wasn’t expecting things to be quite as serious as they eventually wound up being!
