This moment from the comedy Freaks and Geeks is uncomfortable viewing because it reminds us all how awkward we can be as teenagers. Nick invites Lindsay to his basement with the intent on wooing her and puts on one of his favorite tracks, Styx’s “Lady.”
He sings along and serenades her, but when Lindsay asks if he wants to make out he says no. Nick says most guys want to kiss, but he just wants to hold Lindsay. It probably sounded much cooler in his head.
