Not wishing to stay out of the fun, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Getaway staged its own daring rescue several weeks later.
Not long after the Getaway departed its Miami, Florida home port, passengers noticed a flash of light in the sky. Sound familiar? It should. The Getaway, like the Pacific Princess, searched for the light’s origin – and found four Cuban nationals adrift at sea. They were brought onboard, and given medical attention, clothing, and food.
