Its daring rescue operation wasn’t the first time the Princess made headlines. It did so in 2016, under considerably less favorable circumstances.
After allowing passengers to disembark, the ship was maneuvering its way into port in Nice, France. Unfortunately, extremely bad weather coupled with strong winds pushed the ship into and over a breakwater. Luckily no one was harmed, but but a large breach was opened in the ship’s hull. It was later patched up.
