Jumping into the rescue with both feet, the coast guard sent out all the heavy hitters – helicopters, lifeboats, and even multiple coast guard ships.
All of them scoured the area for any sign of the missing men, hoping to find them at least alive, if not completely unharmed. The coast guard was also able to get a sense of what had happened, discovering that the men were apparently marooned in the ocean when their ship sank in a freak accident.
