The Pacific Princess is far from the only cruise ship to lend a helping hand to a person in distress. In fact, just a month before the Princess’ rescue operation, another cruise ship was called upon to help a marooned man – from a different cruise ship!
Francis Rakochi Santiago, a crew member working for Norwegian Cruise Line, fell overboard when his ship passed near Cuba. He then spent the next 24 hours treading water, and likely wondering if this was his end.
