Santiago’s fall was immediately noticed, and the U.S. Coast Guard dispatched aircrafts to search for the missing 33-year-old man.
When it was all said and done, the Coast Guard had covered more than 1,630 square miles in search of Santiago, but to no avail. He was nowhere to be found. Then, almost a full day later, a child on another cruise ship – the Carnival Glory – noticed something in the water. Looking a little closer, he let out a shout, “Man overboard!”
