The closer the ship got, the more it became clear Captain Slight was right to follow his gut instinct. That light, it turned out, hadn’t been an optical illusion, a will-o’-the-wisp of some sort. It was in fact a distress flare, and the simple cruise ship at the end of its journey was about to embark on a new mission altogether.
