Britney Spears burst onto the scene in 1999 with her hit single Baby One More Time. In the song, she sings the lyric “hit me baby one more time,” while it might seem that she is talking about being physically hit, this is not what she meant.
The term “hit” is about phone calls and how she wants the person she is singing about to “hit” her again, to call her again. While some stars are all about controversy, Britney just wanted to hear the voice of her lover.
