An anthem for the end of the night at many bars across the country, Closing Time by Semisonic isn’t actually about closing time at all. The band’s frontman, Dan Wilson, told The Hollywood Reporter that the song was actually about the miracle of childbirth.
The line “Time for you to go out to the places you will be from,” has more to do with being born than being kicked out of a bar. Wilson’s wife was expecting at the time of writing the hit song.
