It might not come as a huge shock to discover the song Hey There Delilah by the Plain White T’s is about a girl called Delilah, but the story is surprising.
Lead singer, Tom Higgenson wrote the band’s smash hit about Delilah DiCrescenzo, an athlete he met through a friend. Even though she had a boyfriend at the time, Higgenson was enchanted by her and wanted to write a song for her. Despite it becoming a huge hit, Higgenson didn’t manage to get the girl as she stayed with her boyfriend.
