Every family celebrates birthdays differently. While some families keep birthdays pretty low key, others are all about parties and presents and cake. When children are young, birthdays are usually more of a big deal for the whole family.
Children spend all year waiting for their next birthday, and when it draws nearer, they look forward to big parties with all of their friends. A lot goes into planning these birthday parties, too. Parents have to coordinate decorations, food, guests, themes, locations, and more. As children grow up, the structure of the birthday celebration changes. And at a certain point, the adult children often reverse the arrangement and plan surprises for their parents’ birthdays.
