Before he got his break on Moonlighting, Willis was not a household name. Willis was actually working in a nuclear power plant in Salem as a security guard. In a humorous case of life imitating art, Willis actually took a turn working as a private investigator in real life, before he even auditioned for the same role in Moonlighting. Believing he could make it as an actor, he enrolled at Montclair State University in the drama program.
