Die Hard came out in 1988 when Moonlighting was still being aired which created some serious tensions between the two stars. After the movie came out on VHS, Willis took the opportunity to advertise his movie while having a dig at Shepherd at the same time. In one scene, a video rental store employee is seen ripping down a Die Hard movie poster, which really annoyed Shepherd. Willis knew this would get under her skin but insisted it was left in the final cut.
