Jimi Hendrix is probably one one of the most popular rockstars of all time. His talent was never in question, but unfortunately, his lifestyle was. Hendrix began using illegal substances during his time in the spotlight and it quickly caught up with him.
He joined the 27 club on September 18, 1970 when his girlfriend at the time, Monika Dannemann, reported that he was in bad shape. Hendrix was pronounced dead later that day due to asphyxia from consuming too many substances.
