[post_page_title]Buddy Holly (age 22)[/post_page_title]
Buddy Holly may have only been 22 when he died, but he sure made an impact on the world with his influential music. Holly is credited with being one of the biggest figures in pioneering mid-1950s rock and roll.
Unfortunately his life was cut far too short when he – along with Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper – was killed instantly in a plane crash in 1959. Since then, this day as been referred to as The Day the Music Died, most notably Don McLean’s 1971 song American Pie.
