During 1980 the Olympics were held in Moscow. Due to their location, Americans were banned from attending the games. However, Nadia was right there fighting for her chance to win another medal for her country. The Russians wanted every opportunity to have an advantage, so went as far as to place their rugged soldiers in the audience to harass any opponents. During Nadia’s time on the double bars, the soldiers were chanting for her to fall, but ever the dedicated athlete she focused on her routine and nailed it.
