During their time hosting the Olympics, the Russians were trying everything to make sure their athletes won, no matter what the cost, and with no worry if it was glaringly obvious. The judges wouldn’t allow Nadia to begin her routine until every one of the home country’s gymnasts had gone. Amazingly, all of the Russian athletes also scored at least a 9.5; some of the scores were posted less than one second after the gymnast had successfully landed.
