Nadia Comăneci took her place on the podium to receive her silver, where a photographer was trying to get the best picture possible. She was standing next to Bart Conner, an all-American blond-haired 18 year old when the journalist called for a “kiss for the camera”, thinking the pair looked sweet together. Bart leaned down to kiss young Nadia’s cheek and knew they would meet again as they were both preparing to head to the Olympic Games. This wouldn’t be the last time this pair would meet though as their lives were about to tangle together.
