[post_page_title]The real-life ‘Money Heist’ – $92 million[/post_page_title]
Avid fans of Netflix’s Spanish crime drama Money Heist will be able to trace the exact route the robbers took in – and out – of the Royal Mint.
In August, 2005, however, a gang found its way into the vaults of the Banco Central in Fortaleza, Brazil. How? They dug a tunnel underground that allowed them to breach the vault. Sound familiar? They even disarmed all of the high-tech alarm systems, and got away with an estimated $92 million in cash. The robbery is still being investigated 13 years later.
