[post_page_title]The Great Train Robbery – $64 million[/post_page_title]
We’re not talking about the fictional robbery depicted in the two Westerns with that name, but a very real one that took place across the pond in Buckinghamshire, England in August, 1963.
A gang reportedly headed by a man named Bruce Reynolds got on a train at Bridego Bridge. When they got off, they were £2.6 million richer. That’s $64 million dollars today, for those of you keeping score at home. The robbers played it smart and fled England, but their luck eventually ran out and they were all caught.
