[post_page_title]The St. Patrick’s Day heist – $500 million[/post_page_title]
On March 17 – St. Patrick’s Day – there’s nowhere better than Boston. And there’s nowhere worse on March 18 – the day after.
Case in point: the day after St. Paddy’s Day in 1990, two thieves threw on Boston police officer uniforms and entered the city’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. They left with 13 works of art estimated at $500 million. None of the art was ever recovered and the investigation’s still open. A $10 million reward is in place for anyone who leads to the paintings’ recovery.
