The Millennium Dome was a high-end exhibition space in London, England. While today it’s the O2, London’s famous concert venue, it used to host trade shows and exhibits.
On November, 2000, it was hosting one such expo – for diamonds – organized by the De Beers diamond corporation. A local gang try to raid the event, with the original plan being to then take off on the Thames via speedboat. The plan was foiled by the Metropolitan Police Service, which had been tailing the group suspecting they might try something like that.
