Since his role in the hit film, Franzese has turned his attentions to his extensive comedic endeavors. He has written, directed, and starred in multiple comedy shows and off-Broadway productions. Franzese has also become a prominent figure in the LGBQT community, campaigning for equal rights and acceptance for all. In 2016, Franzese proposed to his long-time boyfriend, stylist Joseph Bradley Phillips. He most recently starred in the comedy film, The Con is On, which is set be released later this year.
