Tina Fey not only acted as a key character in the teen comedy, she also made her writing debut with the film’s iconic script. The Mean Girls plot was supposedly inspired by the trials and tribulations of the actress’s very own high school years. Fey played Ms. Sharon Norbury, the accident-prone calculus teacher who attempts to offer her well-meaning advice to her students. Fey had already had a thriving career in comedy with a 9 year-stint as a recurring cast member of Saturday Night Live.
