It wasn’t merely Charles’ infidelity that was the topic of choice during Diana’s interviews. The Princess also spoke about the state of her marriage in general, revealing that she wasn’t after a divorce but would get one if Charles wanted it.
Obviously, the Royal Family was hoping to avoid such an official separation, given how badly it would look for the monarchy. However, with Diana acting like a bit of a loose cannon, a divorce seemed inevitable. Charles couldn’t handle being associated with his wife for much longer.
