It wasn’t just her children that Diana was affectionate towards. The Princess was the kind of woman who loved spending time with all kids, and whenever she was around them, she always got down on their level.
This was something that the monarchy didn’t particularly approve of, especially as royals were supposed to distance themselves from the public. However, Diana didn’t care for that tradition. She wanted to show her supporters that she viewed them as equals, regardless of her power and status. It’s partly why she was so beloved.
