The ring drama aside, people were still excited for Charles and Diana to tie the knot. On the surface, they looked like an incredible couple, so the fans supported them completely. However, the Princess caused further upset on her wedding day by breaking another tradition.
Rather than reading out the vows that had been passed down for generations, she made a few tweaks. She refused to say that she’d “obey” her husband, believing that their relationship should be equal, regardless of who her partner was. She was adamant about that.
