It wasn’t just the products she used on her face that went against royal expectations. The Princess also liked laying on the nail polish, despite traditions stating that women in the monarchy were supposed to keep their hands fairly neutral.
Nude colors were acceptable to use on nails, but nothing else. Of course, Diana had her own opinions on what was and wasn’t acceptable, and they didn’t match up with the Royal Family’s traditions. So, she just went ahead and painted her nails whatever color she wanted that day.
