Considering all the rules Diana broke, you might think she and the Queen had a rocky relationship. However, although the two had their differences, they were actually on good terms with one another.
It seems that the Princess had a significant influence on the monarch, with her impact still felt today. That’s probably why the Queen has done things like inviting Meghan to the family’s Christmas celebrations before she and Harry were married. Diana had shown her that as great as traditions are, sometimes rules are meant to be broken.
