There is more that goes into wearing a tiara than meets the eye, and it seems as though Royals still have a long list of rules to follow when choosing the headwear for each outfit. The bride would have once chosen a tiara from her family’s collection to wear as part of her wedding outfit. However, that all changed as soon as she tied the knot. Then, women would be expected to use a tiara from her husband’s family’s collection instead.
Meghan and Kate weren’t part of a Royal Family before their weddings meaning they got to choose a tiara from The Queen’s collection instead. However, the accessory still has to be approved by The Queen before the brides are allowed to make their way to their big day. It looked as though Meghan’s choice of headwear was about to cause quite the stir.
