Although that memorable New Year’s Eve performance might suggest otherwise, Mariah has an incredible voice. Until Ariana Grande came along, it seemed like there was no-one else in the world who could reach the same notes as her.
That’s probably why the singer insured her vocal cords. Her voice is quite possibly her greatest asset, so $35 million seemed like a small price to pay to protect it. That’s not the only thing she insured, though. According to TMZ, Carey paid the same amount to protect her legs too.
