Neither Fox or Pollan would ever say that things have been easy since the Parkinson’s diagnosis, but that doesn’t mean they don’t consider the illness a gift. It’s helped them appreciate the fragility of life and the importance of showing others how much you love them while you still can. Fox wouldn’t have been able to escape from his downward spiral without having Pollan by his side, and he now knows with certainty that she’s never going anywhere. That’s why they’re still going strong thirty years after tying the knot.
