France was where Loren and Ponti had set their hearts on, but there were some complications. It wasn’t as easy to move around Europe as it is today, so Loren and Ponti had to become French citizens.
Not only that, but they had to get Ponti’s ex-wife to agree to become a French citizen as well to file for an official divorce. Luckily she didn’t stand in their way, and the couple moved to France to get their relationship back on track.
