Thanks to Ponti’s efforts, and Loren’s emerging star-status, Hollywood came calling for the budding Italian actress. In 1957 she was cast alongside one of Hollywood’s leading men, Cary Grant.
It was clear to the people who watched the romantic comedy Houseboat that there was great chemistry between Grant and Loren. Before that movie, Loren and Grant appeared together in The Pride and Passion, and it was clear there was a lot of admiration for each other at that time.
