Loren was 34 when she was pregnant for the third time, and doctors advised her to live a reclusive lifestyle for the sake of her baby. The actress followed her doctor’s advice and remained in a hotel in Geneva for the vast majority of her pregnancy.
It seemed that the advice had paid off, and Loren was approaching her due date without any major complications. On December 29, 1968, Loren gave birth to her first child, Carlo Ponti Jr. Four years later, she gave birth to her second, Edoardo Ponti.
