Unlike other children her age, Eva couldn’t go to things like kindergarten as there was too significant a risk that she’d catch something there. Instead, Alicia and Dan had to try and keep her as secluded as possible. That’s not only due to the chances of her feeling ill, but also because she can’t be exposed to too much sunlight. Eva’s skin is incredibly sensitive, and the briefest exposure to the sun could cause her to burn. It’s made going out tricky, but the pair has found ways to cope.
