In another story that came to light while filming The Matrix, Keanu heard about a set worker who was going through some family trouble and was struggling financially. Without hesitation, and despite not even really knowing the guy, Keanu gave him a $20,000 Christmas bonus just like that.
Many were deeply moved by this, and the admirable gesture wasn’t even the only time Keanu’s unusal generosity became very evident during the shooting of The Matrix.
