Nowadays, we’re somewhat accustomed to royal weddings being a big deal. When people like Charles and Diana or William and Kate tied the knot, millions of people tuned in at home to watch them.
Of course, TVs weren’t as readily available in the ‘50s, although that didn’t stop a reported 30 million from seeing Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly become husband and wife. The event was considered unmissable, with the wedding featuring many reputable guests. Apparently, the likes of Cary Grant and Ava Gardner were on the guest list.
