Grace’s desire to become an actress perhaps wasn’t too surprising given the theatrical connections in her family. Two of her uncles had ties to the industry, including Walter C. Kelly. The man was renowned for his work in the vaudeville scene, including the drama film The Virginia Judge.
Funnily enough, Walter worked on some of his movies with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), the same media company that later helped his niece find success. Unfortunately, he never got to see how much she achieved because he passed away in 1939.
