Hitchcock was one of the people who reportedly tried to approach the actress with a new film offer. He apparently wanted her to play the lead in the psychological thriller film ‘Marnie,’ released in the early ‘60s.
Kelly was said to be excited about taking Alfred up on his offer, but the idea was frowned upon by people back home. There was allegedly such a massive outcry over it that Grace had to back out. Judging by what’s been said about Rainier III, her rejection no doubt appeased him greatly.
