This Friends star apparently had exceptionally terrible vision before she gave up on glasses and resorted to corrective eye surgery. Courteney Cox couldn’t read her scripts without glasses, and even struggled to tell her female co-stars on Friends apart.
In fact, Courteney Cox’s vision was so bad that even regular spectacles weren’t enough, and she didn’t want to have to wear contact lenses all the time. Finally, in 1999, five years after her sitcom Friends premiered, she had had enough. She treated herself to corrective eye surgery and hasn’t looked back since. She was reportedly thrilled with the surgery, even saying, “It’s a miracle; I feel I’ve been given a new life.”
