The fact that acclaimed singer Elton John had corrective eye surgery may come as a surprise because he is well known for the flashy glasses he always wears. However, since he got laser eye surgery, the flamboyant and often colorful frames are just for show.
In 2002, he revealed in an interview that he was to have eye surgery in 2003. People speculated that he would give up his signature spectacles, but he kept right on wearing them. It’s a good thing he got the surgery though, since we can only imagine that it would be very expensive to get custom made prescription lenses for every single pair of his some 5,000 unique frames.
