Thanks to her role in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Alyson Hannigan was actually already pretty well-known before she landed a recurring guest role as Trina, the sister of Veronica’s on-again off-again boyfriend Logan. And only a year after Veronica Mars premiered, she landed a much bigger role as Lily on How I Met Your Mother which probably explains why she didn’t appear much past season one.
Trina is a pretty typical spoiled rich girl, and a struggling Hollywood actor, who often comes home only to beg her father for more money and tease her baby brother. She does however get a darker storyline as she starts dating an abusive boyfriend. Luckily for her, both Veronica and Logan come to her rescue.
