There’s no denying that Shadow has made mistakes in the past. However, the inmates who rescued her daughter have shown that your previous actions don’t always define you. They might have committed crimes in the past, but they want people to see there’s more to them than their felonies.
They’re different men now because they were given a chance to put things right. There’s no reason why Shadow can’t do the same thing, even if that means paying the price for her wrongdoings.
