After many more attempts, reminding himself that it could be done, Needs’ patience paid off. He had managed to reach just far enough to grab the cub’s fur and pull it free from the drain pipe.
The baby was unsurprisingly soaking wet, dirty, cold, and hungry. The team took the cub to the WRAS center, where they checked it over for injuries. Fortunately, they found none. They gave the cub a good clean, before placing him in a carrier to return him to his mother.
