Jaxon was diagnosed with peroxisomal disorders, a group of conditions so rare that they occur in less than 100 out of every 4 million births. When she learned the diagnosis, she “kind of lost it,” Belmax said, knowing full well that there wasn’t a cure.
“It did take some of my hope away,” she added, “and I just needed something to like bring me back.” Hopefully Jorge and Annaliese’s kindness towards Jaxon did the trick, and they all go on to live happy, full lives.
