As she moved in with her grandmother, it became clear that Cindy was behind academically. More than anything, her grandmother was concerned that her young granddaughter could not read or write. This was something that Cindy had never thought would become that much of an issue as she wasn’t expecting to achieve anything in life.
However, her grandmother was determined to make something of the young girl, and the decision was made to homeschool Cindy. She wanted to give her the education she needed to take her life in a positive direction. Sadly, during Cindy’s senior year, her grandmother passed away. Cindy didn’t know how to cope with the loss, and she felt as though a piece of her had been lost. She didn’t know what to do, but there was one thing she knew more than anything. She was going to make her grandmother proud.
