This man is clearly displaying signs of boredom. He has lost the power (or will) to stand in the middle of the department store, and so has perched on the edge of a table.
He’s still clutching his wife’s bags, though. There’s a sort of helplessness in all of these pictures – many of the men look like they want nothing more than to leave the mall, but they feel that they must finish what they started and make it through the shopping trip.
