Near the end of 2017, many women who have worked with Batali or came in contact with him over the years described in detail alleged abuse at the hands of Batali. A number of women who worked with him detailed inappropriate workplace behavior and he was reported to human resources on several occasions. Although he apologized he said he didn’t remember any of the alleged incidents and he left the Batali & Bastianich Hospitality Group shortly after. The aftermath was felt throughout his entire empire.
